Grok Music® Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy is very straightforward - we respect your privacy and want to keep it secure as you search, discover and listen to new music. Very simply:
- Entry of any personal data you provide is totally at your option and will require a password that you choose.
- We hate spam - and we will provide very limited e-mails to our users who have "opted in" to receive Grok Music® updates focused on their specific music interests. We also allow a clear and easy way to opt out at any time!
- We will not share your e-mail data with anyone.
- Though we may collect cumulative data concerning which artists our users are listening to, this is only done on a cumulative basis (i.e., our "GrokPopular" artist lists) and we will never share personal data that could be traced to a specific user.
- We collect no information (credit cards etc.), which you may give to our Third Party partners such as iTunes or Amazon.com.
- Any information you place on message boards or "Comments" sections is optional, of course, and, of course, will be accessible to the general public.
- Browser information: In order to maintain and improve the quality of our services, we do collect data (on an anonymous user basis) of IP addresses, referring URLs and brand and version of browser software.
- We also do provide links to other sites, which may have varying privacy policies. We encourage you to check those policies at those sites.
- We do use cookies, but do not use them to capture any personal identifiable information. Our use of "session" cookies lasts only as long as you are on line. We use this technology to improve and personalize your experience on Grok Music®. A cookie cannot determine your email address, for example, unless you type it in. Allowing a website to create a cookie does not give that site or any other site access to the rest of your computer, and only the site that created the cookie can read it. Our Website also uses permanent cookies that store an encrypted session id code. This means we are able to "recognize" you when you come to the site, without the need for you to log in.
- Under certain very limited circumstances we may be required to disclose personal identifiable information by a specific court order.
